DISASTERS & ECOSYSTEMS
RESILIENCE IN A CHANGING CLIMATE
We all know in this present global environment our Ecosystems, both land and water based are extremely important for both the future and protection of the local communities which live with them: and for the larger global community as they are by far, the largest Carbon Sequestration Entity existing on the planet today.
The Disasters & Ecosystems Facebook group of nearly 14,000 scholars and advocates represents one of the world's largest and most diverse collection of ecosystem expertise.
As Facebook operates now, as good as it is, it is impossible for all members of the group to communicate and interact with all other members of the group.
And because Ecosystems are going to play such a critical role in the future well-being of the all the world's cities, towns and communities we must put into place communication mechanisms which will allow the free exchange of knowledge and ideas between all the members of this critically important group.
HOW IT WILL WORK
Each week or two we will send out a brief UPDATE on important stories that have been posted on the Facebook Group as a reminder for you to visit the group to view posts.
We also want to encourage Members to add their own posts and interact with members that have posted on the Group Page.
It is critically important that relationships build and the sharing of expertise and experiences becomes much more frequent if we are going to achieve the critical mass of Disaster and Ecosystem Experts the global community is going to need to drawn upon in the coming few years.
