METHODOLOGIES & TECHNOLOGIES
WHICH POSSESS THE POTENTIAL TO LESSEN THE NEAR TERM IMPACTS
Considerable research funding is making its way into, researching improvements and new technologies which will assist the global community de-carbonize.
However researchers delving into further developing Geoengineering techniques and other 'Near Term Anthropogenic Climate Change Mitigation Technologies & Methodologies' are starved of much needed research funding.
The Geoengineering Research Alliance aims to create a US$100 million Fund, over the next five (5) years, specifically for funding Geoengineering and Near Term Climate Change Mitigation Research for its Research Members.
The stated goal of the Geoengineering Research Alliance is to ensure all geoengineering research & researchers have access to the funds they require to fully research and trial ALL their potential solutions.
The Geoengineering Research Alliance only assists researchers undertaking research into methodologies or technologies which have the potential to lessen the near term (next 50 years) impacts of Anthropogenic climate change on the global community.
If you believe your Research Project falls within the above description, you can submit a brief outline of your research project by clicking on the button below.
The Geoengineering Research Alliance considers both existing research projects, and research projects still in their planning stage for assistance.
The Research Alliance has established two funding mechanisms.
1/ SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM
The Alliance makes available small grants of US$1,000 - US$25,000 to researchers, planning, or initiating, research projects which have the potential to lessen the near term impacts of climate change. Grants can be utilized to,
Write a comprehensive Research Plan.
Produce a Professional Research Funding Request.
Travel costs to make Presentations to Potential Funders.
Travel costs to present their research outcomes to peers at conferences, etc.
2/ RESEARCH FUNDING
Researchers requiring major research funding for their research projects can submit proposals to the Geoengineering Research Pledge Fund.
The Alliance will forward these proposals to countries and companies which have pledged funding for geoengineering research projects.
Pledge Donors select which research projects they wish to support.
